During a parliamentary sitting earlier today, the Senate handed Senator Natasha Akpoti a 6 months suspension with immediate effect. She was suspended for misconduct and violation of the red chamber rules.
Recall that Senator Natasha and the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Godswill Akpabio has been locking horns with each other for the past couple of days, and Natasha even went as far as submitting a petition against the former Akwa Ibom state Governor.
While Senator Natasha Akpoti was leaving the chamber after being suspended, she decided to briefly address all the senators in the room. She stated that suspending her for six months is clearly an act of injustice and that, it will not be sustained.

“Suspending me for 6 months is clearly an act of injustice and it will not be sustained, I promise you that this injustice will not be sustained”, Senator Natasha Akpoti said.
