According to the report from ESET TV, In the wake of the recent public dispute between Senator Godswill Akpabio and Natasha Akpoti, former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole has intervened, urging his colleague, Senator Uduaghan, to take responsibility for the altercation and offer an apology.
The brawl, which unfolded between Akpabio and Akpoti, has sparked a considerable amount of public attention. Amid the tension, Oshiomhole emphasized the importance of restoring the reputation of the involved individuals and the need for all parties to act with decorum.
Speaking on the situation, Oshiomhole shared a poignant reflection, “And to our colleagues, I think rebuilding our collective image is necessary. I had occasion to say that once you have been stripped naked in the market, how much more can you cover? Since everybody has seen it, but then I also ask myself subsequently, because you were stripped naked in the market, should you continue to walk naked all over the country?”
The former governor continued, urging the need for self-awareness, “The moment you realize you are being naked, we are told that when a madman realizes that she’s naked, if you begin to walk through there, you know he’s regaining sanity. It is not a mark of weakness.”
Oshiomhole’s remarks underscored the necessity of accepting accountability, moving beyond the scandal, and working toward the repair of public trust. His words are seen as an appeal for maturity in the handling of public disagreements, particularly among political figures, and the importance of learning from mistakes to restore integrity.
In his call to Uduaghan, Oshiomhole further emphasized that accepting responsibility for one’s actions and apologizing for the damage caused is a sign of strength, not weakness, and essential to moving forward
