The Chairman of the ex-service men in Ireopodun Local Government, Retired Major Emmanuel Ologunde has commended the governments at all levels for the improvement of the welfare of former soldiers in Nigeria.
In an exclusive chat with Top People’s News Media during the Armed Forces Remembrance Jumat Service in Igede Ekiti, the ex-soldier noted that the local government and other levels of governments have continued to upgrade the fortunes of former soldiers and their families .
The retired major revealed that there had been significant improvement in the former soldiers salaries in tandem with the new minimum wage for civil servants.
Major Ogunrinu however pleaded with Governments at all levels to do more to improve the standard of living of members of the Legion and the families of the dead among them in light of the current harsh economic situation in the nation.
