ONE MAN in Yoruba land who can tell me “Shut up” and I’ll tell him “Yes sir”, is this dude called DELE FAROTIMI.
Dele Farotimi
A man I respect so much.
An excellent Nigerian.
A Yoruba man of a different stock.
You are one man who groans and sobs, in deep penitence, for the betterment of your dear country. A man astute in integrity, unshakable in convictions, and of course un-induceable with monetary gains.
A rare breed of the Yoruba stock. A man who can look corruption in the eye and call it by its maiden name; without garnishing or embellishing it with political encomiums.
Sir Dele Farotimi
Men are called “legends” only when they are dead or have exited the floor. But I call you a living legend of purity.
You are a Yoruba man with the ilk of Persian rigidity with a tightening-hold to the tenets of uprightness. A man whose passion burns with holy anger; and with a steam so rumbling that it could charr and wrench at the radar-er.
A man I will readily take instructions from.
But let me make a confession; and it is that whenever I remember you, I ask myself “Why then do you castigate his entire tribe seeing that he is an exemplification of everything good”?
Alas, I console myself that I do so because empirical conclusions are drawn from the majority of the samples, and not from the negligible few. And that is why I have fallen in love with the word “some”, just so as to create a space for you. But we know (perhaps, I know too), verily, that there are exemptions from and exceptions to every collective analysis.
Dele Farotimi
Take these flowers 🌺 🌹
I give them to you!
While I can readily and perhaps unapologetically, refer to your tribesmen as tribal bigots due to their activities in the virtual space, I am inherently assured that you are an exception to the lot.
You, my dear senior brother, are NOT a tribal bigot. You are not an ethnic rascal.
You are not a uzelezz tribalistic urchin.
You are neither of those.
RATHER…
You are an excellent Nigerian!
I respect you very much my learned senior in the legal profession. I share in the groans you utter in deep silence over the avalanche of debilitating, sordid but intravenous affliction of vile corruption latently buried in the turbans and fabrics of our nation; which is committed by those you readily and unashamedly refer to as incurably corrupt individuals.
Sir, take your flowers 🌺🌹.
They are meritoriously yours!
It’s from me, Stephen Emele!
