The Ogun State Police Command has filed a six-count charge against Adetoun Onajobi, widely known on social media as @justadetoun. The matter is currently before the Abeokuta Division of the Federal High Court.
– Adetoun Onajobi, had been accused of recently using social media and other online platforms to publish false allegations against the Ogun State Government and to harass the Governor of Ogun State, in violation of the Cybercrimes for which Ms. Onajobi for was invited for questioning to address allegations of online bullying.
Instead of honouring police invitation the accused was said to have submitted a letter through her lawyer claiming medical incapacity, supported by a medical report allegedly issued by a doctor.
Police investigations was said to have revealed that the medical report was fabricated with the doctor involved addmitting that the document was falsified at Ms. Onajobi’s request during a phone conversation facilitated by her lawyer.
The doctor has since been arraigned before an Ogun State Magistrates’ Court on charges of conspiracy, forgery, and obstruction of justice.
Meanwhile Ms. Onajobi had also been accused of still refusing police invitations and her whereabouts still remaining unknown according to a social media report on Sunday
In the meanwhile,the Ogun State Police Command had reaffirms its commitment to combating all forms of crime—violent, financial, or digital—while upholding constitutional rights freedom saying that freedom of speech does not extend to criminal conduct.
The Command added that itis actively pursuing other individuals linked to the dissemination of false information allegedly orchestrated by Ms. Onajobi. The Command will employ all lawful measures to apprehend her and ensure she appears before the Court to face the charges already filed,police command affirms.
