US BEGINS AIR STRIKES ON NIGERIAN ISLAMIC TERRORISTS

The United States carried out airstrikes against Islamic State (ISIS) militants in Sokoto State, northwest Nigeria, on December 25, 2025. President Donald Trump announced the operation on his Truth Social platform, stating that the strikes were “powerful and deadly” and aimed at “ISIS Terrorist Scum” who have been “targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians” in the region.
The U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) confirmed the strikes were conducted at the request of Nigerian authorities and resulted in multiple ISIS fighters killed.
Nigerian officials, including Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar, described the operation as a joint effort involving intelligence sharing and strategic coordination between the two countries.
The strikes come amid heightened rhetoric from Trump, who warned of further attacks if violence against Christians continue.
