*Chosen Life Christian University Appoints Dele A. Ilesanmi as Professor*
*Two Professorships in Three Months: The Remarkable Achievement of Pastor Dele Ilesanmi*
Pastor (Prof.) Dele Alaba Ilesanmi of Bamigbade’ s family of Osi-Ekiti has added yet another distinguished feather to his already illustrious cap with his recent recognition as the World’s First Professor of Biblical Research, Theoretical Theology, and Faith Theology. This latest milestone is not just a personal achievement, but a significant moment for the global Christian academic community, particularly in Africa, where theological scholarship is undergoing a fresh renaissance.
In the evolving landscape of theological scholarship, Pastor (Professor) Dele Alaba Ilesanmi has emerged as a global trailblazer, making history not once—but twice. He holds the unique honour of being the World’s First Professor of Biblical Research Studies and Biblical Education, conferred by Testament Theological Seminary in May, 2025, and now the World’s First Professor of Biblical Research, Theoretical Theology, and Faith Theology, a title recently affirmed by Chosen Life Christian University, Nigeria on 9th August, 2025 in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Within a space of three months, Ilesanmi made a double global distinction as a trailblazer in Biblical and Theological Scholarship
These dual recognitions are not mere ceremonial titles—they are a profound affirmation of a life wholly dedicated to the advancement of Scripture-centred theological education. With unwavering commitment, Prof. Ilesanmi has not only pioneered new academic disciplines but also birthed original theological frameworks that integrate faith, theory, and practice with deep spiritual insight.
Prof. Ilesanmi seamlessly bridges academic depth and pastoral praxis. With earned doctorates in both Theology (ThD) and Christian Education (PhD). A prolific author and educator, his contributions span over 100 scholarly works, cutting across biblical research studies, Christian biblical education, theoretical theology, faith theology, and pneumagogy of learning theories. His work advances a distinctly biblically centred paradigm in education—one that resists secular encroachment and prioritises Scripture as both method and source of truth. His writings challenge researchers to root scholarship in a divine epistemology rather than secular assumptions. Much of his work is grounded in revealed Word. His pioneering models — such as Faith Theology, Christogogy, Pneumagogy, Bibliogogy, Parentology, Parabolic Differential Learning Theory, Grounded Truth Theory, Scriptural Immersion Theory, Theowordiness Evaluation Model, Scriptural Paradigm Theory, Sola Scriptura Methodology, Scriptural Review Method, among others — have redefined how the Church and the academy engage with Scripture in a way that is academically sound and spiritually transformative.
Ilesanmi’s first and second professorial appointments by two different Christian theological seminaries stand as a clarion call to the global theological community: that biblical scholarship must be rooted in divine truth, shaped by faith, and expressed through rigorous research. His legacy is not just in titles held, but in lives equipped—pastors, ministers, scholars, and students alike—who now approach biblical research with greater depth, conviction, and clarity.
In an era where secularism often challenges the authority of Scripture, Pastor (Prof.) Dele Ilesanmi stands as a bold voice calling the Church back to the sufficiency of the Word and the integration of faith, theory, and practice in theological education. His life and work continue to inspire a new generation of pastor-scholars committed to knowing God and making Him known through the revealed Word of God. More so, at a time when theological education risks being either too theoretical or too detached from Scripture, Pastor Ilesanmi has shown that it is possible to pursue both excellence and faithfulness. His dual professorial appointments and honours within a space of three months by two different Christian Seminaries are not just a personal achievement, but a kingdom landmark that a pastor can be sound both spiritually and intellectually – showcasing that pastors can be both spiritually grounded and intellectually rigorous. Professor. He is also the most outstanding Biblical Researcher of the year. Ilesanmi-Bamigbade, a native of Osi-Ekiti in Ekiti State, is not just the first in title—he is first in impact.
Congratulations to our erudite professor and minister of God!
